STUDIO SELECT. LOCAL'S RECOMMENDATIONS. HIDDEN GEMS. INSIDER TIPS.
Bali Edition with Desti & Michele.
Desti is an Indonesian-born creative and a powerhouse of energy. Affectionately called a "Ninja" by her husband Michele, it's a fitting nickname as she has the unique talent to effortlessly connect with new people and vanish into the crowd, just seconds into a party.
Michele impersonates entertainment. Being a host by nature, he makes everyone feel comfortable at any given time as the restaurant manager at places such as the Six Senses or Juntos House.
Having lived in Bali for over ten years, Desti & Michele were chosen to give their "studio selection".
"Another of our top choices is the 'Neighborhood'. Their breakfast, lunch and dinner will have you lick your fingers. Make sure to say hi to the owner Maya from us!"
"The O.G when it comes to fine dining using local product is 'Locavore'. They have now evolved into a whole project revolving all-around sustainability. Check out also their sneaky speakeasy 'Night Rooster' for great and innovative cocktails."
"Fancy some Italian food? Stop by 'Riviera' and enjoy their delicious food and the even better negroni."
"We adore the 11-suite boutique hotel 'Further'. They have recently opened and are perfectly located to move around the Canggu area which is full of cool restaurants, bars and nightlife."
"Going to 'Milk and Madu' will give you a great start to your day. Order The Madu big breakfast - but honestly, everything on the menu will satisfy your morning cravings."
"To fully dive into the Indonesian experience, book yourself your private traditional wooden house called Joglo in the breathtaking lifestyle boutique hotel 'Bambu Indah'. You’ll be surrounded by natural freshwater pools and can relax with only the sound of the jungle and the nearby river."
"Japanese fusion with an incredible view over a lush valley of tropical jungle will await you at 'Sayan House'. Indulge on some of their great cocktails too. Yammm"
"Located in Petitenget, 'Potato Head' is more than just a place to stay. They have probably the best beach club in Bali, laid-back vibes and a great events program in place. They are also pioneering in sustainability with a lab transforming waste into design objects."
"Another favourite in Canggu for great wood-fired cooking is 'Mason'. Here, incredible locally sourced ingredients are prepared using various techniques such as smoking, grilling, curing, fermenting and everything in between. An absolute must when visiting Canggu."
"Wanna know my all-time favourite in Bali? 'Room4Dessert'! This is a very very special place where I have pretty much spent my birthday every year. Serving a degustation menu consisting of savoury snacks, desserts and petits fours - 21 courses in total."
